CORAfrica plans to build Community Education Centers (CECs) as traditional model schools throughout the rural areas of Nigeria, especially where the need for education is greatest. CORAfrica's founding mission extends beyond simply building conventional schools. Our Community Educational Centers (CECs) will include primary and secondary schools with room for residential students within rural communities.
CECs will also include an agricultural station, a medical clinic and health education facility, a borehole with clean drinking water, a library with internet access, and a micro financing institution to support socially-responsible entrepreneurial efforts within the village (especially for women and men raising school age children).
Moreover, we hope to promote within our CECs local scholarship opportunities for the most promising villagers.
This educational agenda proposes to nurture and develop the future leaders of Africa through CORAfrica programs.
CORAfrica will work directly with the community and Church-based organizations in Nigeria to build its CECs and also improve already existing schools within rural villages. Our Working Vacations will also allow volunteers to help build CECs and other educational facilities.
We welcome funding and partnership opportunities with external organizations and individuals to assist in creating better learning environments for rural children.
